specifications︰ Polycarbonate (PC) is a kind of carbonated polyester. Carbonate itself is not stable, but its derivatives (such as phosgene, urea, carbonate, carbonate) have certain stability.

According to the different structure of alcohol, polycarbonate can be divided into two groups: aliphatic and aromatic.

Aliphatic polycarbonate. For example, polyethylene carbonate, polytrimethylene carbonate and their copolymers can not be used as structural materials because of their low melting point and glass transition temperature and poor strength. However, their biocompatibility and biodegradability can be used in drug delivery carriers, surgical sutures and bone support materials.

Polycarbonate is resistant to weak acid, weak alkali and neutral oil.

Polycarbonate is resistant to UV light and alkali resistance.

PC is a linear carbonated polyester. Carbonate groups in the molecule are arranged alternately with other groups. These groups can be aromatic, aliphatic or both. Bisphenol A type PC is the most important industrial product.

PC is an almost colorless amorphous glass polymer with good optical properties. PC high molecular weight resin has high toughness. The notched impact strength of the cantilever beam is 600-900J/m, and the thermal deformation temperature of the unfilled grade is about 130 C. Glass fiber reinforced can increase this value by 10 C. The bending modulus of PC can be more than 2400MPa, and the resin can be manufactured into large rigid products. Under 100 degrees C, the creep rate is very low under load. PC has poor hydrolysis resistance and can not be used for products that are subjected to repeated high pressure steam.

The main performance defects of PC are low hydrolysis stability, sensitivity to notch, resistance to organic chemicals, poor scratch resistance and yellowing after long-term exposure to ultraviolet light. Like other resins, PC is susceptible to erosion by some organic solvents.
